Dholak
The dholak is a two-headed hand drum that is widely used in Indian music, especially in folk music and devotional music. It has a wooden body that is shaped like an hourglass, with one head larger than the other. The larger head is played with the palm and fingers of the dominant hand, while the smaller head is played with a stick held in the other hand. The dholak produces a rich, resonant sound, and its rhythmic patterns can range from simple to complex. It is often used as an accompanying instrument for singers and other instruments in a variety of musical genres, including Bollywood music, folk music, and devotional music.
