Harmonium
A harmonium is a musical instrument that originated in Europe in the 19th century but became popular in Indian classical music and devotional music. It is a keyboard instrument similar to a piano but smaller in size and with a bellows that is operated by one hand while the other hand plays the keyboard. The bellows force air through reeds, producing a sound similar to that of an accordion or a reed organ. The harmonium is commonly used in Indian music, especially in devotional music such as bhajans and kirtans. It is also used in classical Indian music as an accompanying instrument for vocalists and other instruments.
